How does this speed test work?
This tool estimates your download speed by fetching multiple small resources from public CDN servers and measuring how long each download takes. The total data transferred is divided by the total time to calculate an approximate speed in megabits per second (Mbps). Latency is estimated by measuring the time for a minimal fetch request to complete.
Understanding your results
Download speeds below 5 Mbps are considered slow and may struggle with HD video streaming. Speeds between 5–25 Mbps are moderate and suitable for most browsing and streaming. 25–100 Mbps is fast, supporting multiple devices and 4K streaming. Speeds above 100 Mbps are very fast, ideal for large downloads, gaming, and heavy usage.
Factors affecting speed
Your measured speed can be affected by many factors: distance to the test server, network congestion, Wi-Fi signal strength, VPN usage, ISP throttling, and browser overhead. For the most reliable results, test on a wired connection with other applications closed.
