What are Open Graph tags?
Open Graph (OG) tags are meta tags that control how your web pages appear when shared on social media platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. Without them, platforms guess which image and text to display β often with poor results. By setting og:title, og:description, og:image, and og:url, you ensure every share looks polished and drives more clicks.
Twitter Cards explained
Twitter uses its own set of meta tags (twitter:card, twitter:site, etc.) to render rich link previews. The most popular format is summary_large_image, which displays a large banner image above the title and description. If Twitter tags are missing, Twitter falls back to Open Graph tags, but setting both gives you full control over each platform.
Image recommendations
For best results, use an image that is at least 1200 Γ 630 pixels for Facebook and 1200 Γ 628 pixels for Twitter's large image card. Keep important content centred, as platforms may crop edges. This tool runs entirely in your browser β your data is never uploaded.
