How much should you tip?
Tipping customs vary by country. In the US, 15–20% is standard for sit-down restaurants. In the UK, 10–12.5% is common (and often included as a service charge). For exceptional service, 20–25% is generous. Our preset buttons cover the most common ranges, and the custom option lets you enter any percentage.
Splitting the bill
When dining with a group, use the "Number of People" field to divide the total evenly. The calculator shows both the per-person tip and the per-person total, making it easy to settle up at the table.
